spreadsheets can be as

Pivot Tables

A farmer in one of my courses asked me to show him Pivot Tables because his contractor had told him how useful they are in farm planning. I had to admit that I was not familiar with them, and went away to learn! The result is the exercise that follows. I hope you are able to make use of it on your own farm, and will quickly see that the farmer and his contractor were right.

In essence Pivot Tables enable you to pull key facts out of a table of information, in a layout to suit yourself. Here I use field record information to work out total areas for different crops in different years, using information from our own farm.
